Kempker’s True Value & Rental was founded by Bob and Barb Kempker in 1970 in their hometown of Fort Madison, Iowa. Quickly becoming a family run operation with all of their children having worked in the store at one point or another.
When it came time for Bob and Barb to set their sights on retirement their son, Charles Kempker and his wife, Dawn took the reins and along with two of their children, Dustin and Jason Kempker, they began to grow and expand the business.
Now operating in 5 locations across Iowa; Fort Madison, Mount Pleasant, Burlington, Grimes and Huxley. Each store has its own focus, but all five are True Value Branded and offer everything from Hardware, Plumbing & Electrical supplies, Lawn & Garden supplies, Giftware, a wide variety of services including glass, screen and key cutting, paint matching, UPS drop off, screen and window repair and so much more!
